Our Story

Meet the team bringing AZ Plunge to life

As any of you who have lost someone will know, grief can make you do crazy things. In the days after losing my brother, in January 2023, a group of friends and family went for an evening walk leading to a small ice filled river. Despite the lack of towels, bathing suits, or a nearby place to warm up, together we jumped into the freezing water.

We returned to this spot each day for the next couple of weeks. When the time came to return home, I was surprised to learn that this was in fact a very popular activity. Living in a tiny apartment in Cambridge, MA, I couldn't set up a permanent outdoor cold plunge, but I did have a bathtub and an engineering degree.

The designs began rolling out in the fall of 2023. After several iterations, low quality chillers, damaged products, and a host of other problems, we landed on the design we use currently.

Using money raised on Indiegogo, a line of credit, a small loan, and personal funds, we brought AZplunge to life. Half of our profits go towards addiction recovery efforts, in the hopes that others don't have to face the same cold journey.

After spending several years working with a technology called pyrolysis, essentially a very sophisticated high efficiency burning process, I made the switch to cold. I had grown familiar with the early stage design process, sourcing, and manufacturing and have been leading the design, and development of AZplunge.

My unrelated interests include mountain biking, snowboarding, running, fishing, and building just about anything. From commercial products to websites, furniture, homes, cars, you name it, I like it.

As soon as I tried my first cold plunge, I was hooked. You forget all of your worries and, for a rare moment, snap completely into the present. With my background in engineering, I knew I wanted to bring AZplunge to life from the start. I have been involved in just about every aspect of AZplunge, from design and testing to website development, social media, and more.

Outside of AZplunge, I love to fish, camp, snowboard, draw, travel, and spend time with my family, both here and in my home country, Argentina.
