Setup

Follow these steps to get started with your Absolute Zero Plunge.

Priming Your Chiller

Step 1 of 11

Fasten the Adapter

Loosen the back of the adapter using the two thumb screws on each side. Slide the back of the adapter tight against the tub and re-tighten the screws. Use the single thumb screw on the back to bridge any overhang and secure the adapter in place.

Step 2 of 11

Attach Adapter to Chiller

Attach the two hoses coming from the adapter to the chiller. The inlet hose connects to the bottom connection marked "Inlet," and the outlet hose (to the waterfall) attaches to the top connection marked "Outlet." Double check that you have these in the correct order to avoid damaging the pump in the following steps.

Step 3 of 11

Attach Barb Fitting

Select the 1/2-inch barb fitting. This is the smallest option available. Thread the fitting into the outlet of the submersible pump.

Step 4 of 11

Attach the Hose

Attach the 1/2-inch clear plastic tubing to the submersible pump. You may use a hose clamp, but if the fit feels secure, it's not necessary.

Step 5 of 11

Mount the Pump

Twist the dampener counterclockwise to open it as shown. Mount the pump near the inlet of the adapter. It may be mounted on the side or bottom of the tub as long as it is fully submerged.

Step 6 of 11

Attach via Quick Connect

Attach the opposite end of the hose to the inlet of the mounted adapter using the quick connect.

Step 7 of 11

Run Submersible Pump

Power on the submersible pump by plugging it in. If after 1 minute water still has not reached the waterfall, check for kinks in the clear plastic tubing as well as in the black 3/4-inch hoses leading to the chiller. Double check that the inlet hose leads to the inlet on the chiller (bottom) and the waterfall hose is connected to the outlet connection of the chiller (top).

Step 8 of 11

Power on the Chiller

Use the breaker along the power cable to ensure the chiller is on. The screen will either display a temperature or three dashed lines (---). In either case, the chiller pump is now running.

Step 9 of 11

Remove Submersible Pump

With both the chiller pump and submersible pump running, remove the submersible pump.

Step 10 of 11

Draining the Tub

To drain the tub, shut down the chiller completely using the breaker, or simply unplug it. Do not cap the system with the pump running, as this will stress the pump and likely ruin the prime. Attach the cap to the inlet while it is still submerged. The tub is now safe to drain while maintaining prime.

Step 11 of 11

Restarting the System

Fill the tub with the cap still on the adapter. Remove the cap only once it is fully submerged. The system is now ready to start and operate as usual without the need to re-prime. If you did lose prime, simply reattach the priming pump and run both the priming pump and chiller pump until the waterfall appears full.
